Romanian Design Week 2023
Description
Romanian Design Week is an annual interdisciplinary design festival in Romania aimed at promoting design, architecture, creativity, and innovation as tools for cultural, social, and economic growth. The festival's theme for this year is "Connections," which inspired the development of a flexible visual identity system. This system includes a series of symbols created using abstract letterforms built on modular grids. The challenge each year is to create an identity that can adapt to the festival's dynamic character. To achieve this, a bold and vibrant color scheme was chosen, allowing for endless compositions and executions that would stand out, even in an eclectic city like Bucharest. Although the visual language changes every year, the custom wordmark and secondary typeface remain the same, providing consistency across all editions. Our objective was to create a unique identity that would draw people's attention, as the client aimed to engage with diverse communities throughout Bucharest.
