Poppins Devanagari - Branding

Description

Devanagari is the parent script of the Indian sub-continent, as it supports more than 120 Indo-Aryan languages. However, due to globalization & western media domination, many Devanagari fonts have lost their true essence & identity. The aim of this project is to raise awareness about Devanagari fonts & their significance in the modern world & local communication in India, by giving an Identity to a font called ‘Poppins’ created by the Indian Type Foundry, which resembles the modern world Devanagari.

Poppins Typeface is one of the newcomers in Geometric San serif typefaces. Its the first ever Devanagari typeface with a wide range of weights & styles of its genre which is based on pure Geometry. The project focuses on giving an Identity to the Devanagari script through a retro-Indian feel, considering its origin from India, capturing the versatility & style of the font (Poppins) with pop-fuse colors, thus promoting Devanagari via Poppins.
