I was assigned to design a Zine with a typeface that I chose. GT Felxa from the Grilli type foundry caught my eye. Improvisation is a key theme in jazz. I felt that this concept was conveyed from the ink trap part and the syncopation created by the many weights that this typeface had to offer. GT Alpina from the same foundry was used as the secondary typeface because both typefaces were designed from the same foundry and have similar X-heights.
