Intel One Mono
Description
Intel is one of the largest employers of developers and has a large developer audience; to reinforce its commitment to both, it decided to expand their Intel One typeface family with a more accessible typeface for all developers, particularly those with vision impairments. Intel One Mono is an original fixed-width monospace typeface, with improved legibility to reduce eyestrain. A panel of low-vision and legally blind developers used beta versions of Intel One Mono exclusively during development and provided feedback at each stage of design. Testing showed an 11% increase in reading speed compared to Menlo, a popular coding typeface. Intel One Mono was released with an open-source license on GitHub and is free for all to use; feedback from the developer community is actively used to apply improvements, expand the family, and release updated versions.
