Identity for annual conference ‘Språk er makt’

Description

The Norwegian Directorate of Culture’s annual conference ‘Language is power’ was held in November, and the talks at the conference were centered around how art’s own language can be a means of power, as well as the directorate’s power through language in dealing with the art and culture field.

Language is power, and typography is one way to reach it. Typographic expressions change the way we perceive words and sentences. In the identity, the phrase ‘Language is power’ repeats itself in the various official languages of Norway, and the different expressions appropriate more or less well-known visual references which illustrates a great diversity in language and its interpretation.

The visual language for the conference is also powerful and impossible to avoid, which plays out yet another aspect of the power of language. Rather han interpreting the conferences’s theme to the letter, the identity creates a new dimension for the subject.
