The designer is also the author of this book. This is the first academic monograph to systematically explain the history of Chinese character design from the dimension of design. From the perspective of design, it presents a unique historical view of the evolution of Chinese characters and expands its research scope to all kinds of characters closely related to the history of the whole Chinese character culture circle. The design of the book highlights the connection with linguistics and grammatology. For example, the seven fonts of the book title are used to represent the evolution of the title Chinese characters, corresponding to phonetic notation, literal translation and free translation of each Chinese character.
