Giallo
Description
Giallo is a one weight typeface that takes its roots from the giallo esthetic, an italian horror movie genre from the 70s.
Its very compact design was designed to be able to obtain relatively long text blocs, such as the giallo titles, which are usually rather descriptive: The Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, The House with the Laughing Windows, etc.
The typeface has contextual alternates (h,m,n,r), which allow the user to reinforce Giallo’s tightness. It also offers many other OpenType features that will give more possibilities for layout design.
The specimen is a collaboration with the artist Laurent Melki, icon of the 80's horror aesthetic.
