Finney

Description

Introducing "Finney", a type family that captures the beautifully industrial nature of metropolitan Pacific Northwestern cities. Finney is versatile, elegant, and functional—making it perfect for setting paragraphs or headlines.

Designed by three Pacific Northwesterns, Finney’s robust—yet gracious—nature is able to withstand harsh winters and shine in the spring. Its wide stance spans sounds, its sharp cuts carved from stone, its variety of weights adapting to any season.

The designers, Burke, Dustin, and Peyton (AKA 247 Type), chose to explore how this shared homeland could be visualized typographically. They began with hand lettering, inspired from local found typography, ecologic references, and the memory of growing up here—in the woods and the city, on the ocean and in the mountains.

As a variable font, Finney can shift and change just like the PNW’s weather. It’s ideal for short paragraphs, sturdy emphasis, or strong headlines.
