Dina Typefamily
Description
Chaumont, aiming to assert its position as the city of graphic design, contacted the baldinger•vu-huu studio for its visual identity.
For this identity, we have developed a playful type family with a festive and collaborative spirit. The DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) ratio was our starting point. It served as the foundation for the formal design of the typeface.
A monospaced typeface where each letter takes the form of a «poster-letter» based on DIN A proportions.
In addition to these letters, which feature portrait and landscape format glyphs, over 250 pictograms were meticulously designed.
These cheerful pictograms depict the heritage of Chaumont, including monuments and architecture, graphic design, surrounding nature, local shops, markets, sports, leisure, transportation…
Complementing Dina Chaumont Display is Dina Chaumont Text, a proportional typeface that draws formal inspiration from Dina Chaumont Display. This highly legible linear font is intended
for longer text layouts and small typesetting.
