Correlations Identity
Description
„Correlations – Forum for AI in Art and Design“ is an interdisciplinary event about artificial intelligence in art and design, which takes place at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach. It is part of the joint project „KITeGG – Making AI tangible and comprehensible: Connecting technology and society through design”, which is a four-year program that aims to bring artificial intelligence topics and methods into design teaching. Project partners are Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Offenbach University of Art and Design, Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Applied Design, Cologne International School of Design, and Trier University of Applied Sciences. „Correlations“ is the second KITeGG symposium and provides a series of lectures, workshops, performances, and an exhibition.
The graphic language for „Correlations“ consists of many stacked gradient layers with different blend modes, that change the initial images. The layered images correlate with each other and generate different outputs based on the blend mode and specific order of the layers. That way the process resembles an AI process where the AI has different inputs and correspondingly generates new outputs. The graphics and colors are created to recall the outputs of artificial intelligence. Often there are unusual color combinations and blended gradients.
