China's Shoe Capital
Description
The economy of my hometown, the biggest shoe-making capital in China, struggled to revive after one year’s pandemic. I returned here in 2021, doing field research for half a year and recording the living situation of the migrant workers through documentary photography and interviews. This book tells the stories of migrant workers and indicates their dilemma. I bound the shoe wrapping paper I collected in the factories into the book.
