BIAD Biennial
Description
The mandate of this project was to create the visual identity of an event about artificial intelligence. The submitted pieces show the whole branding of a biennial event on biomimicry, artificial intelligence and sustainable design. The project is in french considering the educational establishment. This biennial takes place in Singapore, an exemplary city in biomimicry in its architecture and urban planning. The BIAD (Biomimétisme, Intelligence Artificielle et Design durable) biennial hosts expert speakers in biomimicry and holds workshops featuring artificial intelligence, in a way that compares the similarities between these two divergent, yet similar disciplines. The evoluting logotype was created from Physarum polycephalum, a species commonly known as a blob.
One of the challenges of this project was to combine biology and graphic design, while remaining effective in communication. In addition, controlling the unstable biological organism that is the Physarum polycephalum requires special conditions. Its rapid spread and unpredictability require special attention. A use at a larger scale would be possible, considering that on a small scale the result was conclusive.
