ART ATHINA

Description

Exploring thirty years of creative synergy, this book delves into the rich history of 'Art Athina,' one of Europe's oldest art fairs, founded in 1993 by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association. Functioning as a monumental artifact, this publication serves as a conceptual vessel, encapsulating memories, events and people that have shaped the fair's legacy.

The challenge lay in organizing a vast volume of archival material—catalogues, memos, press cuttings, bulletins, photographs, and more. Employing a versatile modular grid, we created a consistent display, paying homage to traditional documentation methods. The pages unfold as a sea of vibrant colors and shapes, responding to the diverse content. Various typographic styles, from archival monospaced to playful serifs and bold grotesque fonts, reflect this diversity. The cover, simple yet memorable, contrasts with a vibrant one-meter-long bookmark showcasing Art Athina’s logos over the years. Employing multiple printing techniques, our publication ensures a visually striking tribute.
