Amaala Arabic

Description

The Arabic part of the family is designed to capture the impression of Latin which is an elegant high contrast typeface with round terminals, curly structure, and round counters. The overall impression had to be classic so Naskh was chosen as the design model. The type system comes in three type families: "Sans", "Open Eye" and "Closed Eye". The "Open Eye" and "Closed Eye" are the high contrast families that are mainly intended for large headlines and they work also as a variable font with an optical size axis. The "Open Eye" is the lower contrast version of the "Closed Eye" with looser spacing intended for smaller sizes. The "Sans" version is based on the "Open Eye" with the lowest contrast and fewer details. The typeface is now mainly being used on their website but will also be used in their publications and signage.
