36 NYC Matchboxes
Description
This series features hand-lettered typographic matchboxes representing 36 restaurants in New York City. Each illustration embodies aspects of the restaurant's personality or background. As these are real establishments, I designed the series in a mid-century style to complement, not compete with, their existing branding. Each illustration is based on a photographed matchbox, with a digital illustration overlaid in traditional printing techniques.
