29LT Ada Sharp, Flat, and Round

Description

Contemporary Arabic typeface based on the Ruqʿah Arabic calligraphic style accompanied by a unique Semi-Cursive or Semi-Serif Latin that echoes it.

3 axes: Weight, Contrast, and Round resulting in three styles: Sharp, Flat, and Round.

Sharp is a display typeface with steep cuts, pointy terminals, and high contrast. It is the closest in style to the traditional calligraphic Ruqʿah style.

Flat is a blunt typeface with neutral cuts, straight terminals, and low contrast. It can be described as a Neo-Ruqʿah typographic style, focusing on the flow of the pen stroke while removing any additional calligraphic cuts.

Round is a rounded low contrast typeface with smooth cuts and rounded terminals. It comes close to handwriting Ruqʿah style with a ballpoint pen.

The Arabic has a baseline slant of 5º while the Latin has a back slant of 2º.

The latest Arabic type technology in Opentype Features and Elevation Kerning are implemented.
