Nespor type specimen book
Description
The first part of the book (P1–P77) shows all individual 162 typographic characters as they are, with an index at P4–P7. The second part of the book (P78–P184) is an overview of how the 162 typographical characters from the first part of the book have been applied. Nespor line drawings are interspersed here with painted Nespor shapes in public space, where they come to life even more.
The line drawings are made by hand by drawing line after line with a fineliner, almost as a meditative way of working. All these drawings have been scanned at high resolution, in order to show zoomed-in details in the book. The pencil lines of the grid, which are an important part of Daan Rietbergen's work, are clearly visible in the drawings shown.
