Description
Exploring balance & contrast: This typeface was conceived to be a variable font with two axes: weight & optical size, providing a wide range of options for texts & display applications. The regular and italic text weights breathe a warm atmosphere, inspired by the work of Robert Granjon. The extreme weights (thin and heavy) were specifically designed for larger sizes, borrowing stylistic cues from several distinct influences: woodtype from the 19th century, sharp lettering styles from the 70s, and the bold work of Oscar Ogg. One of its disctint features is its italic’s 20° inclination, this design choice finds its roots in the “Ascendonica Cursive” of 1571, but is a contemporary interpretation that generates a captivating contrast with the regular version. This typeface studies the past and analyzes the present to create a unique contemporary blend, bringing a dictint dichotomic identity.
